Course Description

Human-Machine Interaction & Ethics is an intermediate course that helps you understand how people and machines work together and the responsibilities that come with designing technology. Every day, we interact with machines—whether it’s through smartphones, computers, or smart devices. But as these technologies grow more powerful, it’s important to think about how they affect our lives, our choices, and our privacy.

In this course, you’ll learn how humans communicate with machines, the role of design in making technology user-friendly, and the ethical questions that come with it. We’ll look at real-life situations where technology brings both benefits and challenges, such as data privacy, fair use, and the impact of machines on society.

By the end, you’ll have the knowledge to not only understand how human-machine interaction works but also think critically about how technology should be designed and used responsibly for the future.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand how humans interact with machines – in daily life through devices, apps, and systems.
  2. Recognize the importance of user-friendly design – and how it makes technology easier to use.
  3. Identify ethical issues in technology – such as privacy, fairness, and responsible use.
  4. Explain the impact of machines on society – both the advantages and the challenges.
  5. Think critically about responsible design – and how technology can be built to serve people better.
  6. Discuss real-world examples – of how ethics play a role in the way we use and develop machines.
